Opera mails on network drive: Network failure => e-mails lost (profiles still present)

Hi all!

Hope you can help, I've had this issue several times now and maybe I can solve it without restoring a backup of my mail database!

I've got my Opera e-mails and profile on a network drive. Whenever the network drive fails to connect (e.g. server down) and I happen to accidentally start Opera, the mail folder is totally empty. But all of my several e-mail profiles are still present and I can receive and send new e-mails without error.
The e-mails are still on the network drive (in the mail\store\accountx folders).
How can I tell Opera to show those e-mails again?

[Edit:] Under opera:about, the mail folder is the network drive's folder as expected.

Thanks a lot for your help!

# Opera version: 10.51
# Platform/operating system: Windows XP SP3
# Are you using IMAP or POP3? One POP3 account, several IMAP accounts
# Which e-mail service are you using? (For example, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or your ISP?) The POP account's provider is GMX.

Same to me, I can't get my mail trough the POP3. Only webbased works. Strangely I can send (Opera) mail. So I add an check-adress in the BCC-field, just to be sure it is send.

There has been a crash at Outblaze..... the mails of yesterday got mysteriously doubled. So a backup has been reinstalled.

I did send a mail to support.

Grüß Gott,

Bornestera, please post only replies relevant to the topic, and start new threads for new problems.

nudelsieb, sorry, but no answers means noone's got a clue. Regulars read pretty much all new forum posts.

In order to prevent you from accidentily starting Opera when the network drive is not available, I'd suggest to

a) not use a network drive at all
b) start Opera in a way that the network drive is required for starting. E.g., have a shortcut pointing to another shortcut (or a batchfile) on the network drive, which in turn starts Opera.
