Stance on XDCC and Server-Sent-Events?

XDCC downloads have been throwing illegal URLs in 10.5x, is a fix for this on the radar or should I grab a dedicated IRC client right now? Opera Unite has greatly remedied this lack, but some of my sources are only served by IRC bots. I am forced to maintain an earlier Opera version for this alone.

I have noticed problems with SSE simply not working recently, I was wondering if the feature is either "broken" or "deprecated/dropped". I ask because Mozilla devs have dusted off SSE and will probably implement it soon.

EDIT: How did this end up in the Mini section? I was quite certain I posted it under Desktop where it belongs.

And the latest development snapshot 10.54 Rev 3390 didn't fixed it neither, but the workaround still works at least...
