Leave messages does not work?

I want to leave the downloaded emails on the server (gmail), but it seems, it does not work, in 10.51.3315 (Windows client)
It deletes email messages from my gmail account, does not matter, if I check or unckeck the "leave messages" checkbox

I've found the solution. It is a gmail "issue", not Opera.
For POP accounts, there are several options in gmail, what to do with the downloaded messages. The best option is for me the "Mark downloaded messages as read".
