sorry but no. My old Motorola K1 kept dying with Opera 4.2 with it redirected me; so I had to use 3.x. I believe it is the same problem with your phone listed as 5.3 Compliant when it really isn't
I beg to differ - the Samsung Instinct s30 device I have here is capable of installing and starting Opera Mini 5 without problems.
Where exactly in the installation process do you get stuck? Is it while installing the MIDlet onto the device, or is it while Opera Mini 5 is displaying the "Installing" message on the splash screen?

Does your phone by any chance have a preloaded version of Opera Mini 4.2 on it? If yes, what is the exact name of the MIDlet? Are you able to install the Instinct customized version of Opera Mini 4.2 from http://m.opera.com/instinct ?

thanks for your help guys. I got it to work. the phone comes with opera 4.2 pre installed on the phone. I went in and manually deleted 4.2 and then mini 5 downloaded and installed fine
Once you have deleted the preinstalled 4.2 , if you wish you could download a renamed 4.2 to run alongside the OperaMini 5 going to m.opera.com and looking into the "Other download options" link, there you may find the certificated versions too
