multitasking OR multiprocess problem?

For what concerns the bugs on google maps beta (see http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=463451 and http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=523831 ), I noticed that when Opera freezes on maps.google.com, the processor amount used by the looping Opera.exe instance is 50%, only.

Is there a problem in multitasking / multiprocess implementation, somewhere? Shouldn't Opera (or some part of it) be in execution also into the second core of my processor?

Is it possibile that the problems in maps.google.com are somehow related to a bad / erratic multitasking / multiprocess implementation?
