Opera has "serious security defects"???

Tried to login to my school's email, and I got this page:

https://metroconnect.mscd.edu/cp/home/check/post?opera=true

Warning:
Before you can enter this site, you will need to fix the following:

The Opera browser you are using has a various serious security defects and is not allowed to be used with this application.

You must use a supported browser to enter (latest version recommended).

I must say, that's the first time I've ever heard Opera referenced as being less secure than IE. lol

Well if you switch the opera=true in the URl to opera=false you can get information on enabling javascript, this is the page that results from the change
https://metroconnect.mscd.edu/jsp/misc/java_cook.jsp

So my guess is it relates to the java the page uses.

I would blast the lame webmaster left and right. Higher education my ass. They have been out in the sun too long.
Removing the menu bar is the same as blocking access to a vehicle engine by removing the hood access.
No wonder Opera continues to loose users.
