Opera 10.51 Conflicts with RocketDock
To Opera SoftwareI am a long term user of the Opera Browser
, and an even longer user of Punk Labs' "RocketDock,"
which basically adds a mac-like dock to the bottom of your screen.Recently, I have upgraded to Opera 10.51
and there is an annoying incompatibility issue
. RocketDock shows a live snapshot of minimised applications as an icon (for example: a high resulution image of your MSWord Docunments
of minimized movies in WMPlayer) yet RD's icon for an Opera 10.51 (all other versions worked) snapshot is an ugly black square
which is very noticible. I believe this is due to either a block on accessing Opera.exe . Some RD users advise downgrading or stoping Opera use entirely
, but I LOVE OPERA and this just isn't going to happen. From SatanicToothpaste (Michael Suman)
PS. Opera and RocketDock have a fairly similar history and I use them for the same reasons:
Both feature a massive online community
(my.opera.com, rocketdock.com) are generally compatible, overly user friendly, yet face a few bugs
(common ones are: theme/skin incompatibility, somewhat annoying menus) and are constantly chasing a goliath
, financially immense competitor (Opera Software vs Microsoft Corperation, PunkLabs vs StarDock)PPS. Don't suggest using StarDock
. StarDock costs a lot of money to buy and is TERRIBLE!!!
