Opera Newbie questions

I just decided to try out Opera as an alternative browser. I like it a lot, but there's a few snags I ran into, concerning tabbed browsing:

1. Is it possible to open multiple tabs at startup, because I want access to all my regular websites without having to open each tab separately after startup. I realize this could be done with a saved session, but are there other ways to do it?

2. Is there a way to open the home page on a new tab opened during a session, instead of the Speed Dial function?

1. Preferences (Ctrl+F12) > General > Startup > Continue from last time
I'll let someone else field the other question.

If you always want to open the same tabs, you can also use a saved session. Open the tabs you want, then go to (Opera button) > Tabs and Windows > Sessions > Save this session. You'll have the option of always starting with those tabs, and you can close a tab later without worrying that it won't come back the next time you start Opera.

"Continue from last time" is good - it reopens all the tabs that were open when you closed Opera - but sometimes you don't want to do that ...

Thanks for your advice.

For a follow up on the new tab with my home page on it, I took a look at the tweaks you suggested and it works fine if I use the keyboard shortcut. I was actually hoping to also tweak the new tab button in the tab bar to open my home page in a new tab(since I've now disabled the Speed dial feature, it opens a blank tab). Is there a way to do this?

Home Drag the link next to your new tab button on the floating toolbar. Click to go to your home page; hold to open a new tab. If you prefer this button to the default button, right-click and remove the default button from the toolbar.
