I am doing something work? Yes its "Ctrl Enter" but "Enter Ctrl" dont work too.. I noticed opera uses "Enter" for mouse right click button, this is wrong? wat i need to put?
Sorry my poor english...
If I understand correctly, you want to define a keyboard command that makes Ctrl-Enter open the current link in a background page?
That is in fact perfectly possible, and can be done quite easily.
You just have to define in it in the right branch of the Opera application tree.
Do the following:
1. delete all the definitions for Ctrl-Enter you have already created
2. then create one - only one! - in the Browser Window branch
The attached picture shows you what this definition looks like when it's finished.

Strange indeed, because it works for me, when I define it as described.
Some things worth mentioning:
- the key combination you want to use, Ctrl-Enter, is pre-defined in the standard Opera's standard keyboard layout for calling the Wand (saved user names/passwords)
- perhaps are you editing another keyboard definition file, not the one that is currently selected for use? This happened to me once.
- everything else failing, you could try a separate program for creating your own keyboard definitions, e.g. AutoHotKey: http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/Tutorial-Portuguese.html
I am having this same issue. I have been trying to get this ctrl-click to open a new tab now for HOURS.
I've tried 3 or 4 different tips, javascript files, all kind of shortcut configs, and I can only come to the conclusion that it just does not work.
I run Firefox, IE, Chrome and Safari on Windows7; ALL of them have the standard keyboard shortcut for opening an new tab.
I had hoped to give Opera a run, since I've been using it on my Google phone lately, I thought I'd give the desktop version a try.
Plus being a web developer, It's always good to check my pages in one more browser engine.
But I cannot continue to use it in any serious manor without ctrl-click functionality.
At most, this should be a checkbox in the config options. Hopefully they will fix it.
From what I can tell, this has been an issue for many years with Opera? Perhaps they should take some time to check it out; I don't know if they want people to use your product or not, they have failed in getting me to use their browser solely on this issue.
If there is any way to get this to work, I'd be glad to hear it. Please let me know when they add the checkbox. "Use ctrl-click to open a new tab instead of middle button"

Ctrl click is not customisable, ctrl enter is.
Try a mouse gesture instead — its more efficient anyway. Try this for example:
GestureDown = Open link in background page | New page
