Opera response times with "Document: 0 B" issue
Hi thereBeen meaning to post this for sometime now but decided the only way I am going to get it fixed is by speaking to the users of Opera as Google help doesnt seem to get me anywhere.
My computer specs FYI is :
XP Home SP3
Ram 1.25gb
Processor 2.60ghz
I am relatively computer saavy and know how to maintain its performance but lately I've had SOOOOOO many browser issues I've been chopping and changing all the time and Opera is my favourite but this problem really is forcing me to use IE.
My broadband is extremely fast, download and browsing when it decides to work is not and issue but occasionally when you click on a link or open a new site, on the right hand side of the address bar you have the "document" loading bar and more often than not it will sit on zero bytes and not load up.
I've tried so many "tweaks" to little effect.
Also this is my version or Opera as well
Version
10.50
Build
3296
Platform
Win32
System
Windows XP
XHTML+Voice
Plug-in not loaded
Can anyone else help please

Not much we can do to help without a link to a site that causes problems for you. Although you say you have tried many things to fix this, you don't say what exactly, so we don't know what you have not tried.
I know that Preferences, Security, Security protocols, details, and enabling all checkboxes fixed an issue for me.
Preferences, Network, max connections to server set to 16 (default) and 64 max total (default) may help, or may not.
Clicking on Stop, then Reload may fix some issues.

Hi there
To be honest, theres not one link in particular to refer you to as most websites I visit give me the same problem.
WWW.FACEBOOK.COM is one
WWW.EBAY.CO.UK is another
I wish I could elaborate on what I've done to tweak it but I cant remember
I just google it and I have to go into opera:config and changed a few things like what you've suggested about "max connections" which I just changed after you mentioned it BTW but a lot of other things in there have also been changed.
Sorry I cant give details
