Does Opera 10 hate torrents, or does it hate me?
To make a long story short, I have two, separate versions of Opera installed: 9.64 and 10.51 (edit: Windows). They're in separate locations, obviously. Ever since I installed 10, I can no longer download any torrents. It's as if Opera doesn't even try. I've gone into Preferences > Advanced > Downloads, edited the .torrent extension to "Open with Opera" and got nothing. When double clicked (or opened from absolutely any option) I get the standard dialog about torrents being shared with an option where to save the file and then nothing happens. The torrents are good, but Opera's not doing anything. The files the torrent is to download aren't created, and certainly not downloaded.Ideally I'd like to actually open torrents with 9.64, but 9 is always passing the torrent to 10. I've gone into the preferences and chosen to open torrents with another application, then used the path to 9, but it still passes it on to 10. I tried it in both programs simultaneously but that just created an infinite loop of
So, does anyone know how I might go about opening torrents with 9.64 instead of 10.51?
Or even, does anyone know why 10 won't actually download/open the torrent and how I can rectify this?
If I can't find a fix here I'm just going to have to uninstall 10 and wash my hands of it. It's a shame, as it's got a lot going for it, but not this.
