Opera won't load NOAA applet

The applet is located at this website:
http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/full_loop.php

It is a map of the entire US from NOAA showing all weather fronts. While it will load in Opera (10.51) it is a small map and is static - no looping.
In IE, the large map loads and it shows the movement of the weather fronts - it loops. (Firefox displays the the large map, but , again, no looping.) Can anyone explain this difference, and how to get the same effect in Opera as in IE. Thanks.
I use XP Home Edition, Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.111025-1629 (Service Pack 3) and, currently Opera 11.64.

No problem here (other than it takes a full minute to load), loads a map about 3000x1600 pixels, animated.

The following work:
Opera: 10.52, 3370.
Opera: 10.5, 3296.
Opera: 10.1, 1893.
Opera: 10.0, 1750. (quickest of all browsers)
Opera: 9.64, 10487.
Opera: 8.51, 7712.
Firefox: 3.7 A1.
Firefox: 3.61.
Chromium: 5.0.353.
SRWare Iron: 4.028 (second quickest)
IE: 8.0. 18702

But... Safari: 4.0.5...fails... static image.

All in XP SP3.

Works fine here in Opera 10.51 except for the "image-bug". Opera 10.51 only shows like 20% of that picture until it is downloaded completely. This is a known bug and already reported.

Try http://www.spc.noaa.gov and see if that one loops.

Works fine here too. Maybe the thread starter noticed the image-bug and did not wait until that picture was downloaded completely.

Works okay here. I think jfh has a Java problem. Try these links to test your Java: http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml , this one should show the time moving in seconds: http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Eastern/d/-5/java . Check out these threads: Opera and Java - Problem, Java problems after installing 10.51

I think I figured it out. I use a proxy (Proxomitron) with Opera, but not with IE. When I turned the proxy off, I got the looping with the smaller image in Opera - which is fine. I should have tried that before bothering everybody with this thread. Sorry about that.

Check to see if "Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxy" is enabled in Preferences > Network > Proxy Servers
