All my passwords disappeared from Password Manager - why?

When I turned on my computer today, I logged in with my Master Password, as usual (I have it set for once a day). Then when I went to my first website, the username and password boxes were not outlined in blue, as usual, and the key icon at the top that I use to log in to sites was not active. I thought that was odd, so I logged in manually. Same thing with the next website. And the next. I finally went to the Password Manager folder and all my saved passwords had disappeared overnight. How could this happen? Anyone have any ideas why, and is it likely to happen again? I'm the only person who uses this computer and the passwords were all there the night before. I did nothing that could cause this - so what's the deal?

Opera tends to use several preferences folders (that usually happens during installation but I'm mentioning it just in case). Can you search for wand file in your Opera preferences folder?

Just type opera:config in the address bar and then search for wand. It should tell you where it is stored. It's usually in the folder Opera Preferences but sometimes Opera creates a different one (for me e.g. Opera Preferences 10.5) and then of course can't find my original passwords, address history, session etc.

Hopefully you will find the true reason soon.

Thank you for your reply. I followed your instructions and this is what appeared:
wand.tiff

I don't know what "wand" is, so I don't know what I'm supposed to do with this information. This is something for people who are computer experts - I'm just a computer user. Can you tell me what I should do at this point?

*Edited to add -- In my version of Opera, the word "wand" appears nowhere in Opera Preferences. From some information I read in the Knowledge Base, I guess I've figured out that "wand" is the box that appears when you sign in at a site and asks you if you want Opera to save the password and username. Why it is called "wand" puzzles me, and why doesn't the name "wand" appear anywhere in Opera Preferences? In my version, Opera 10.10, that whole feature is called "Password Manager."

And now another problem has come up - even though I've restored many of the passwords that disappeared, and I still have Password Manager enabled, Opera doesn't activate Password Manager at many sites, although the password for the site has been restored. In other words, Password Manager is enabled, but not working, at most websites.
