The lady that owns them is deceased, but her friends would like the albums restored, if possible.

Restored as Friends Only, presumably.

Not so fast, there, hamster! This is what I get clicking on the "full size image" link:

Not Found

The requested URL /1bluebox/albums/593666/my golf hat august 2008.jpg was not found on this server.

I can read the comments just fine, I just can't see the images. That tells me that the albums aren't F.O. I'm scared of what that 404 is telling me though. sad Only because we may never be able to recover the images.

Ah, I see what you mean sad I was merely sounding a cautionary note not to make them public erroneously - didn't realise there were other issues.

One of the webmasters will have to check, but if someone actually removed the photos they may not be able to get them back ...

I know what happened to her, but only because we visited a couple of the same blogs. Weird that the pictures have vanished like that - I can't see anything significantly different between the image location on her blog and those of my own albums.

I'll see if we can't get the photos restored. It's weird that they just have vanished.

We've looked into the missing photos, and unfortunately they can't be recovered as they aren't on disk, and our backups don't go that far back.

Always keep backups of important things. For example, all my personal photos that i've taken over the last 10 years are saved on my home computer, with a copy on an external harddrive, and i also have them copied to a server abroad. You should never have important things stored in only one place, eg My Opera, just in case.. :-)
