I've come up with a good description of how Opera's mouse operates vs the native BlackBerry browser's:
The BB browser uses the mouse like a pencil. You control just where it goes, and how fast, in a normal linear fashion. This is the way the mouse works on computer touchpads, and it simply Makes Sense.
OM handles the mouse like some sort of hockey puck
You shove in one direction, and it goes some sort of distance that way, without any fine control whatsoever. This is what makes using it so nightmarishly difficult. Sure, some people master the built-in hockey game enough to use it, but I much prefer smooth precision navigation.
