How to shut off Auto Update
Hi all,I am currently using Opera 10.1, which suits my needs fine.
However, the computer keeps trying to update to the latest version each time I start Opera. As it does so it wipes 10.1 and installs the latest version.
I HATE the latest version! It does not have the same toolbars and the text, I have found out after a frustrating time, in the tools section is white on white!
How do I turn off auto update?
Thanks
Craig

Note that the white-on-white problem in dialogs can be solved by using a newer skin, and the classic menu (file-edit- view etc) can easily be put back from the new menu button. If those are your only problems with 10.5x, you might consider the upgrade again.

Thanks for the help. Yes, these are my only probs.
However, I want to retain control over what is installed on my computer. I DO NOT want programs to silently and automatically install ANYTHING without me authorizing it. I'm sure you understand why.
I am using a Logitech wireless keyboard which has Ctl-F12 assigned to another function. Is there another way of accessing the advanced auot off function.
Thanks
Craig

Up & Down, Round & Round, Out to the end of my string!
Many thanks for the help.
I have now set updates to 0. (It was on 2) I don't know how it was set that way as it's the first time I have seen that screen.
And I'm very certain that I unchecked the "auto update' feature (check box) when I first installed 10.1.
So, I'm now back to 10.01, which, for me, is ideal.
BTW, does Opera run beta programs and have users test them before any general release?
Thanks
Craig

Sure, see http://my.opera.com/desktopteam/blog/ for example.
