bring back the banner ad as an option

Doing away with the surfing-driven banner ad in the free version of Opera desktop browser made the browser more acceptable to many- but why not bring it back as an option? I remember it as a source of quite a few interesting suggestions. It would surely be less distracting than those skin animations that bring your attention to things that don't deserve any, and would have more revenue potential for Opera A/S! :-)

You might be able to do this with UserJS and/or CSS if you really want but those ads were one of the main reasons people - especially reviewers - didn't like Opera. Even if you only bring it back as an option some idiot reviewer is going to say Opera's going back to ads and that fact is going to spread like wildfire (ignoring that it's an option) and potential new users aren't going to try Opera. And if it is an option only a handful of people are going to take it up so if you compare how much it's going to cost to implement compared to the potential revenue from it it's probably not worth it.
I for one welcome our browser overlord. All hail Opera

Maybe somebody needs to create a widget with similar functionality, and the proceeds can go to charities or some kind of bonus point system.
