Cannot see my contacts although they are there.
I have managed to import my contacts into opera mail and although they are there I cannot see them. Is this normal ?When I show the pane for 'contacts' there is a folder there named 'imported contacts'
When I open that folder there are no names showing underneath. Although if I scroll down this blank space I get the contact details appearing in the right hand pane above the compose/reply/forward words.
The contacts however are not showing up in the left hand pane or in a search.
Thank you for any guidance on this.
Brenda
Hm, hard to understand without a screenshot... open the contacts manager by pressing ctrl+alt+o - do your contacts show there?

Not sure if I have done this right.
Nothing happens when I press alt/cont/o
There are blue lines where the contacts name should be.
Thanks again

Yes, the name field for each contact isn't filled in. This is most likely because the conversion to Opera's adr format wasn't done correctly so that a certain value is used for the name value. Redoing the conversion better, deleting your current imported contacts and importing again should fix it.
Or, you can just right-click on each contact, goto properties and fill in the name for each contact manually. You should inspect the properties anyway to see what else didn't get converted correctly.
Also, before importing an adr file, you can open it in a text edit to see all the entries and see if they're right.

Thanks for the replies.
I wish there were a simpler way to import contacts into Opera.
I have right clicked each contact and manually entered the necessary information.
I think that the problem occurred on importing when I was asked about the fields (first name , display name etc) and didn't know which ones to enter.
Thanks again
