How to run and install file directly from Internet without saving to disk
Hi,can anybody help me to solve this issue? I am quite new to Opera and don't know how to proceed.
I want to install some new application/software/program directly from the internet (regardless whether for example ICQ or some antispyware or burning software). The dialog box opens where I can choose "run" or "save". But after I click "run" (because I don't want to download and save the file to my computer/hard disk and then install it from the computer), nothing happens and no installation wizard opens. Only the new tab "Downloads" opens in the Opera window and in the row when the progress is shown - "error" is written with 0 KB transferred.
Of course, when I press "save" and download and save the file directly to some location in my computer, I am then able to install/run the program form that location without any problems. But I don't want to do this in this way (especially when the file I want to install is relatively big-sized and after installation I want to delete it). I just want to simple run and install the file directly from the internet as I get used to in Microsoft Internet Explorer and in previous versions of Opera as well because I encounter this issue only after I updated my Opera to 10.51. Before 10.51 update I had never met this problem and when I pressed the run button, the installation wizard automatically opened without any problems.
I tried to find some solution within the settings/preferences of Opera and also on the Opera forums but I haven’t been successful.
I will be very thankful for any solution. Thank you very very very much in advance.

The only difference is that it automatically runs the file/application once the download completes, and usually (not always) deletes the file after it has been run. Other than that, it's exactly the same as saving it, running it, and deleting it... you aren't saving any bandwidth, or hard drive space, only a couple seconds from not having to run/delete it.
However, if "Run" isn't working, and this is reproducible, and happens on more than just "one or two" sites, then it's a bug and should probably be reported. Especially if anyone else can confirm it first (I can't works fine here, XP SP3)

Try running it from the Transfer panel. Just double-click on the installation file after it has fully downloaded.
