Some issues with om5 on s60v3.

Ok. I've been having some issues with OM5 since it's transition from beta to final. I've filed bug reports where relevant, and given detailed examples of how to recreate. As we all know, individuals are not given feedback re: the status of their bug reports, and given the sheer volume of reports, that is completely understandable.

I would be grateful however, if a staff member could cast their eye over this thread and give a response with regards to the following..

I experience the following problems, on a regular (daily) basis when using Opera Mini 5 on my nokia s60v3 device.

1. I am constantly greeted with the error message.. "unable to connect, please review your connection settings". This seems to occur at random, and is very annoying. Particularly when I have multiple tabs open.

2. Another error message I receive a lot is.. "error reading from server". This seems to occur also at random.

3. Pages reload with empty input forms. ..now, i know this is a commonly reported problem. People spend ages typing out a post, they click send, only to find that the page has re-set and all their message has disappeared. I'm now in the habit of doing a quick copy/paste before clicking send, but its still annoying as it happens almost every single time. It also makes filling in on-line forms a real chore. (Luckily though mobile 10 works fine for this)

4. Download speeds are very slow, in comparison with 4.2. ...i've tested this with the same files with both browsers, and mini 5 is dreadfully slow. Even worse when trying multiple downloads. Downloading 3 files at once seems to triple the download time. Downloading while browsing is a god-send, but the compromise in speed is almost not worth the trade off.

Now, before anyone jumps on this thread kissing the feet of opera, i would like to say that I think opera have done a marvelous job with mini, and mobile. There are many features that i really like, and they are features that keep me from using the competition's browsers. All i am looking for here, is a few words from a staff member with regards to the issues i've mentioned above. I'm pretty sure that the issues are quite common amongst other users, and i'm sure that people would welcome some feedback.

That's why I use either Mobile or 4.2. In addition to your bugs, Rimm3r, if I use the alt. key the character repeats until I stop it with the backspace key. I filled out two bug reports, one using inline editing and one using full screen edit. Neither found their way to their intended destination.

to be honest, I could live with all the other quirks as long as they sort out the page reload/empty form problems. Its so frustrating, and makes filling in forms and posting on forums a "cross your fingers" type affair.
