It shouldn't look exactly the same, it's now all in Cocoa and looks so much more integrated!
They didn't add it to the Mac version since the menu bar is always available on the Mac. You could add the button by clicking this and adding it from the Appearance window or just by dragging it to a toolbar.

That's not quite the [O] Button though...
I'm not exactly sure if it's possible to force it to somehow appear through the Opera UI alone (I don't use Mac), but if you manually edit your Toolbar.ini file, you can add "MenuButton" to whichever toolbar you want, which is the [O] button... the easiest, or most reliable is to add it under the '[Customize Toolbar Custom.content]'
Either like:
[Customize Toolbar Custom.content]
MenuButton0
or if you already have buttons in that section, then:
[Customize Toolbar Custom.content]
Other button 0
Other button 1
Other button 2
MenuButton4
That's assuming that the button still exists in the Mac version (though I'm not sure why they would explicitly remove it, even if it's not being used).
Then you can drag/drop it to wherever you want from the Appearance - "My Buttons" section.
