How to download same messages twice from Gmail using POP
Hello,I use two instances of Opera, one under Windows and one under Linux. I recently configured the later one to also check my e-mail, but noticed that, once the mail has been downloaded with one instance of Opera, the other one would ignore it. Messages are left on the server, and when I log into my account (specifically Gmail), it says that they are unread. How do I configure Opera to download the messages again?
Thanks,
Ivan.
Recent mode fetches the last 30 days of mail, regardless of whether it's been sent to another POP client already.
Setting up 'recent mode'
In your POP client settings, replace 'username@gmail.com' in the 'Username' or 'Email' field with 'recent:username@gmail.com'
Once you enable recent mode, please be sure to configure your POP client to leave messages on the server ...
If you want your second client to retrieve mails older than 30 days, you'd probably have to re-enable POP access and download the lot. Read Gmail Help:How do I download messages to another computer once I've enabled POP?

By default, Gmail does not allow a new message to be downloaded twice via POP access. You can use a special parameter (recent:) to redownload in "Recent Mode". According to Gmail Help:Using POP on multiple clients or mobile devices:

Thank you for the useful answer!
I didn't know that this was a Gmail and POP thing and not the client-related one, so I apologize for the off-topic post...
Regards,
Ivan.

If it is still possible to change the topic title, you could change it to something like "How to download same messages twice from Gmail using POP", so that it is easier for other users to search and find it.
