Context menu search options

I was very satisfied with the fact that the context menu search behavior has been changed with release 10.50 (maybe earlier) and it opened in a new tab.

10.51 was nearly unusable for me, so I was looking forward to the next update, which appeared today, but there is one thing in the current change log that really annoys me:

Context menu search opening in a new tab, and not reusing current tab

So I would really love to see this as an option to choose for, maybe in the User Prefs or in the search or tab settings - please!

PS: Yes, I know what the shift-key does wink

It was a bug, so it was fixed.

If you don't like the behaviour then change it in Preferences, Tabs, Reuse current tab. Then the context menu search will respect whichever option you prefer — same tab or new tab.

With this setting a new tab is opened also every time I click a bookmark. So this is a bypass, but not a solution.

Could be interesting if middle-click worked in that part of the interface.

We're in the wish-list thread here.

Love that new function too, but would also prefer the searches to open in a new window by default. If you're using a keyword from a page to search for some extra info, more often then not, you will still need that page.

If you want to override the correct default behaviour then edit the [hotclick popup menu] section to add a "New page" command before the search — then it will always open a new tab before searching, even if you have enabled "Reuse current tab."

Instead of

Item, MI_IDM_SELSEARCH="Hotclick search, 0,,,"Find""

Use:

Item, MI_IDM_SELSEARCH="New page & Hotclick search, 0,,,"Find""

+100

Is there any reason stopping the implementation of middle-click on context menu? Non-standard? Or maybe too complicated?
