1) Opera5 Mini on Iphone loads very slow on GSM.
Same Place, other Handies with OperaMini4.2 on LG and Nokia loads at accaptable speeds. Somehow the Iphone is notably slower.

Under J2ME-Opera-Mini 3..4.2 the Loading-Times at GSM where ok. But also the loading times of the native Browser my Handies where ok.
Iphone is somehow notably slower.

2) The option "open in new Tab" please add a Line "open new Tab in Background".
Sometimes i want to check news-sites and open in background while looking through the List of news.

(3) I like the 2 Zoomlevels and the adaption of Widths to screen-width. Perhaps this is something for desktop-opera at wide screens.

Mini 4 and Mini 5 aren't really comparable. In Mini 5 you get a fuller net experience and that costs in traffic. For Mini 5 to work best, it should at least be on EDGE.

Fuller net experience? I thought both 4 and 5 give same rendering of web pages?
Opera Mini 5.1 and Opera Mobile 10 on Nokia 5230 Series 60 5th Edition.

In fact data traffic might be more economical with Opera Mini 5 because uses javascript as void, par example on hi5 killing games band the front page is not reloaded. On the other hand in theory I can load pages up to 1.3MB (maximum partition is calculated based on memory seen by the server 2.6:2=1.3) instead 500kb with 4.2. So for a user who visits the same medium size pages Opera Mini 5 is a better alternative especially if it involves repeated reloadings.

are you sure about 4.2? I've never had problems loading my 600 kbyte test page in my past tests under previous OM versions.

Make a test drive loading large pages wìth images quality set to high. With sek800i max. partition size is 518145 (500kb) and in absence of any limitations relates to memory seen by the server (also from debug info) where partition should be equal with about half from memory. It is conceivable that a moded version with altered data can load pages up to 2MB which is the download limit per page or item.

A small correction: data traffic is reduced by half if it is used seW910v with 4.0.8462 vs 5.0. It seems that the old dimension have been underestimated then and now.

Yes, that's indeed the most important feature I am looking forward for. In Opera on the desktop I open more than 90% of all links in background tabs. On the iPhone it is a pain for me to always have to switch back to the original page when scanning for interesting links to read later. I even would pay for that feature, if it was only included in some kind of premium version.
