Opera 10.52 Cookie based sessions not recognised between multiple tabs

Version: 10.52
Build: 3370
Platform: Win32
System: Windows NT 5.2

First of all, NO this is not a page error cause it used to work fine with previous Opera version. (Speaking of, i stopped counting the failures 10.52 introduced...)

I noticed it with the PunBB PHP forum. When i have an Opera window open where i'm logged into the forums and click a link to some topic of that very forum (same url and everything) from outside of Opera, i.e. an IRC client. Opera 10.52 fails in two ways:

1) My active Tab is overwritten despite my setting of opening every tab in a new window

2) and that is the more annoying part. For some weird reason it appears that i'm logged out of the forum suddenly. That leaves me with two tabs from the same forum, one where am i logged in and one where i am not. (Both are refreshable and act totally normal)
And the fun part is: If i click that same link while having Opera is completely closed, i get a fresh Opera window where the session works and i'm logged in. (cookie based login)

Tricky bug but imo it has something todo with cookie recognition.

Cookies are shared among tabs; they are the state for that particular server (not tab). The exception is a private tab.

I'm not fully seeing this through but it looks like for some weird reason the external application that is containing the link that opens Opera somehow manages to make Opera open it in a private tab..?
Also for some weird reason this only happens when Opera is already running.
