Please, suggest what should I do? I do not want to change the browser, I have a standing Opera 10.52. I do not understand why the sound has disappeared.

The fact is that there is a tick. In the setting of the sound is turned on. But it is not.

Then it may be a plugin problem or a site problem. Please provide a link to a site where the sound is not working for you.

Sound not working on any of the sites to which I go through the Opera. I had thought that the blame for flash player, but I'm not sure.

Same here. Lost sound in Flash-based contexts (e.g. Youtube) after installing 10.51; still no sound in 10.53 (build 6330). Ubuntu 9.10 i386 32-bit here. Any pointers?

Windows Vista or newer installed? If yes watch a video with sound on youtube and then click on the loudspeaker on the right side of the bottom. Check if the sound for Opera is enabled there or not turned down.

Same problem here.

Sound enabled bot overall and for sites (that I've checked). No sound on any site. Site play sound fine in other browsers.

Had to fall back to Firefox.

Right-click on a flash object and check the settings. Also make sure you didn't mute your system. If it's in more than one browser, it isn't the browser's fault.

I am having the same problem with Opera 10.6 and Windows7 64bit. Other browser play sound in videos. Opera does not play any sound for various websites. F12 - Enable sound in web pages is enabled. Any suggestions?

Check the "Mixer" setting in the Windows's Speakers icon (at the taskbar). Windows 7 can differ the sound of individual apps, maybe Opera is muted.

That idea was mentioned a few posts earlier and in fact since Windows Vista it is possible to adjust the volume for every application.
