Context-menu searches should NOT use the same tab. No! BAD OPERA!

I just started downloading the 10.52 update, and one of the "problems" it lists with 10.51 is that right-click searches DON'T re-use the current tab:
"Context menu search opening in a new tab, and not reusing current tab"

I thought doing that was a problem that was finally fixed in the last version. Why would I want to dump the current website just because I wanted to search for something? If I use this feature, it is because I want to search for something I saw in the content of that page before I continue reading it. There is no reason to assume that I want to drop the thing I was halfway through reading.

Then either uncheck "reuse current tab" in Preferences, Tabs, or hold down shift when selecting the search.

The bug that was introduced in 10.5x was fixed in 10.52 — they are not going to reintroduce a bug.

Thanks. The Tabs setting will do the job. I don't necessarily want bookmarks in new tabs, but I access those via the address bar anyway.

I don't think it makes sense to call it a "bug" either way. Chrome does it the other way by default.

You can customize the menu to open in a new tab - I've done that for the URL open for years...
