[Op10.52] YouTube Post Bulletin input box messed up due to overlapping of table cells

Opera 10.52 seems to mess up the small Post Bulletin input box at the top of the Recent Activity section on channel pages. Normally, you should see the username to the left and an input box to the right (which initially contains three dots). In Opera 10.52, the input box overlaps the username.

I traced it down to the input box residing in a table cell of which the width is set to 100%. This causes Opera 10.52 to make the table cell overlap the one to its left.

Simplified code:

<table>
<tr>
<td>Username</td>
<td width="100%"><input type="text"/></td>
</tr>
</table>

Previous versions of Opera make that second table cell as wide as possible after deducting the minimal width necessary to display the first table cell from the complete table's width.

I'm not sure what the standards say should happen in case one of the table cells is set to have a width of 100% so I wanted to check here first wether it's a bug in Opera 10.52 or not.

Can't confirm cause I don't know where <s>the hell</s> you post "Bulletins" in YouTube...lol

Also can't really confirm it with <a href="ftp://76.11.58.186/Junk/Test.htm" rel="nofollow">my own</a> test, it's behaving as normal, according to the basic codes.

However, how "simplified" is your code? There are various properties that can affect it...

Edit: Found it... (seriously, I never use my YT page, lol)... it's all behaving normally for me... both the "Preview" and the final Bulletin, display fine...

They are also using DIV's and SPAN's inside a table, for both the preview, and the final/published display... not just tables/rows/cells.

I'm talking about the small input box just below the title of the "Recent Activity" section, not the very big one at the very top of the channel page. Just below that small input box I'm referring to, there's the "Attach a video" link at the left and the "post bulletin" button at the right.

It's just above the second part of your second screenshot; you cut it away.

You are supposed to see [Username ... ] inside a wide, white box. But in Opera 10.52, you only see [ ... ] inside that box because the username is overlapped.

Fair enough, I confirm that... a span inside a td... seems like like a problem with the generation of the page, for instance if the table is created before what goes in the table, then Cell 1 has nothing in it, Cell 2 = 100%... <i>then</i> content is put in... but the cell isn't expanding to match.

Ran into quite a few little problems like that... but trying to find out if that's "standard" behavior is nearly impossible...lol

I provided a fix in my YouTubeFixer script, but I'd still like to know whether this is a bug or not.

FWIW, the fix basically consists of setting the span element inside the first table cell to {white-space:nowrap}.
