Street view shows a blank black view using build 6328 on Ubuntu
On both Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10 and Ubuntu 9.04 x86-64, Street View on Google Maps only shows a blank black screen instead of the desired photographs. I verified that Flash is installed (or rather, Google did
). Thanks for checking this stuff out devs!Originally posted by sgunhouse:
Yes, even Google has browser sniffing issues sometimes.
Sarcasm? They're overflowing with browser sniffing (issues).
The DnD Sanctuary — a safety net for My Opera's demise.
That's weird, because it works fine on my 10.10 installation. Here are my User-Agent strings:
Working 10.10:
Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux i686; U; en) Presto/2.2.15 Version/10.10
Not working build 6330:
Opera/9.80 (X11; Linux i686; U; en) Presto/2.5.24 Version/10.53
Working build 6330:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; U; en; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 Firefox/3.5.6 Opera 10.53
Barring version-based blocking on Google's part (which would just be ironic), the only thing I can think of is that my stable is installed from apt-get while build 6330 was installed using the local installation script from the tarball. So is version-based blocking the likely culprit here? I can't imagine why Google would acknowledge Opera only just enough to allow a subset of versions, especially without listing those versions as "supported".

Doesn't work all the time for me either on XP SP3. It used to work about 75% of the time in 9.8x, dropped to 50% of the time in 10.5x and in build 3390 is down to working about 10% of the time.
Edit to add: Well how about that. Changed to "Mask as Firefox" and it seems to working now.
