Google suggestions in searchbar

I'd like very much to have Google search suggestion while typing into the searchbar.. but without losing the chance to change on-the-fly the search engine to be used (great current feature)! bigsmile

I'd support this only if we also have the chance to disable the suggestions.

The reasoning behind not doing it is because of privacy issues, but I can't really understand that as whatever you type in there, you're going to press enter and send to google anyway.

So +1

search once for something, and you will be reminded of it by every ad - kind of creepy in my opinion.
and having EVERY line i type in being send to googel like FF does? thanks, no. i am not so happy about being watched.
and whats the point in suggestion anyway?
if you are looking at your fingers while typing, you will not be able to see thm, if you type blindly, you are anyway faster.

It's not such a strange thing to start typing a word without knowing the correct spelling.. I find the Google suggestions very comfortable fir this reason and also because it's time-saving.
Sorry to say this, but if you don't want to be watched you have to throw away your mobile and stop using mail, Web and P2P.. faint

I try to never look at my fingers while I type. I appreciate having those Google suggestions. I use them quite often to see what options are available.
Sincerely, & with thanks,

dannii, Opera 10.6 already supports suggestions for some search engines, so support for Google must be going to be added soon.

Please reply on Built in Suggest Search or search for a proper thread on the Beta forum to avoid keeping duplicates active here.
