Text box background colour

On this forum which is a red colour most of the text input boxes are also red with black text.

It makes it REALLY hard to put your response in, I have to type in then I have to Ctrl+A to highlight what I have written.

I have changed the option "opera:config#Colors|Color.Form.Input" to #ffffff but it makes no difference.

I have searched the forums here but have not found out what to change to fix it. Anyone have any suggestions?

Oh god.... that's the last thing I wanted, I just want the text boxes with a white background ... you know like every other browser I have ever used.... until now.

Well if there is no solution to Opera screwing this up then I guess I will have to go back to FF.... sigh.... just as I was getting to like Opera.

Have you tried different skins? Maybe it's a skin doing this?

input[type="text"],input[type="password"],textarea{background:#fff !important; color:#000 !important;}

Save it as css file. While you are on this page right click on it and go to > Edit site preferences > display and point to that file.

Huh? What skin? Opera skin or forum skin? Pretty sure I don't have the option to change the forum skin and the Opera skin is the default. Besides that both IE and FF display that page fine.

Worked like a charm, thanks. Now I just gotta find the other user of that forum that put me onto Opera and tell them what the solution is.

Different solution is to disable opera:config#Enable Styling On Forms option (from UI: Menu O->Settings->Preferences->Advanced (tab)->Content->Style options (button)->Enable styling of forms).
Works on all sites wink.
