How to get Opera usable?

Ok, i've installed new build, which it was yealling and screaming about for weeks.
Version 10.53
Build 3374
Platform Win32
System Windows XP

Now, a question. Two of them.
How to make it use system default color palette (even told to do so, it use some fancy colors that is absolutely unreadable) and how to make it stop flasing and whistling? (Even set to NO DAMN SPECIAL EFFECTS, it happily sliding tabs in and out)
Or does that mean that Opera is no longer the fastest and smallest browser on the Earth and dived deep into fancy pimpage and no longer able to do with it's intended goal - browsing websites? Preferable, FAST?

What skin are you using?

Edit - Have you disabled animations in Opera:config - opera:config#UserPrefs|EnableUIAnimations

Moderator edit: Removed quoted spam message.

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting.

Opera 12.16 build 1860 on Windows 8 (and I'll be sticking with version 12 and not 'upgrading')

"Fake Windows", that is supplied with Opera. Is there a possibility to get rid of any and all skins and just use normal operating system controls? I'm pretty happy with standard UI functionality and I certainly don't need JS alert widows without background. They are hard to read with alert text overlapping the page text.

Now i did. Why there's two places for same setting? Moreover, why it does not obey to system setting regarding taskbar buttons slidind?

Yeah, it's much easier to delete forum posts rather than delete offending parts of program code.

And what is the problem with cookies?
I have set it to only accept cookies from certain sites I visit (per site), and it stop accepting any and all cookies from that site.
And all sites now listed as configured to not receive any cookies.
Is that joke of sort?
