Mass-download option

I know there are a lot of requests for a better download manager but I have to say that I like the current one. Anyway, one thing I'd like to have in addition is the option to mass-download all the files of a specific category (es. all the images / all the JPGs). Once started, the current download manager would be great but the initial 'selection' is the key.
I'd just like to have a 'Download all..' entry for the [Document Popup Menu].

Example: I wanted to download all the images of THIS gallery, and I was forced to use Firefox + DownThemAll.

For your particular example, the "Links" panel would have worked.

The links panel extracts all links in the current Web page so you can easily find images, music, video clips, zip files and other downloads, as well as links to other pages.

Example: Type "mp3" in the "Quick find" field to find all mp3 files on the page.

Tip: Click the "Lock" button to keep the current list of links even if you browse to other pages.

Hold down the Ctrl+Shift key when clicking a link to open it in the background, Ctrl+Click an image to save it, etc. There's tons of keyboard shortcuts that will help you out. If you're looking for something that clicks all the links for you, I think I remember there being something similar on userjs.org.
Whoever said nothing could exceed the speed of light obviously didn't know about Opera

Jonaswan2,

Links can find the relevant files but it can't perform mass download. You'd have to download everything one by one, which is frustrating when you have lots of files to download. I'd really like to see an option like Firefox's DownThemAll! add-on in Opera.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, no you don't. Going back to the OP's example, all I would need to do to download all of the photos in that page is: "Lock" the Panel -> Click the first photo -> Shift-click the last -> Press "Save". That's it!

ETA: Oh, I think I might understand. You don't want Opera to open individual save dialogs with individual entries in the download queue. You can remedy that by selecting "Save to Download Folder" instead of "Save Linked Content As." You just have to tell Opera what your "download folder" is ahead of time (Menu button > Settings > Preferences... > Advanced > Downloads > "Download Folder" input box).

Yeah... but, a couple things about that... don't choose "Save linked content as..." otherwise you'll get a couple hundred "Save As" dialogs (which took a solid 90 seconds to do, and was still "twitching") eventually ending up in tandem with one of the current bugs with GDI objects (in Windows) where it gets to 10,000 (or 9,997) and s**t hits fans...lol

And I completed downloading all the 200 images or however many there was 2 songs ago (8 minutes about) and the stupid little "<i>Download of ... has completed</i>" messages are <i>still</i> popping up... plus you can only save to your download folder, so you have to either change that first... or deal with whatever mess that creates afterwards.

It works, but... it could have some tweaking.

3rd song... still popping up...lol

Edit: 4th song... still popping up...
Edit: 5th... alright finished, almost at the end of the song though Bob Marley - No Woman No Cry... 7 minutes long... about 21 minutes total...lol

Yeah, I was about to add that you need to turn off notifications ahead of time. Seriously. This is worse than those save dialogs.

Fake edit: Them damn things is still poppin' up!

here's another type of site this would be useful for:

http://www3.hi.is/~agust/EE4/dnmr71set/WinDNMR/

to download each file here, you'd have to individually go through each one and select it.

this would also be useful given the filesharing part of Opera Unite too. seems like it's the same type of structure.

it'd be good if in the links panel, there were check boxes next to each file (maybe with an option to not include files of type .htm, .html, etc.) along with a quick "select all/none" option
