Opera 10.53 whites out all preference

I tried the upgrade again to Opera 10.53 and, if I go to Preferences, there are all the "dots" and such but no text - it is all whited out. I cannot read anything.

Is this a glitch or do I have to go back to Opera 10.10 again?

Help!!!!

Try using the default skin.

I bet it's a problem with your skin, not Opera.

Oh, no way!! I hate the default skin. One of my main reasons for using Opera is using the skin I want to use. I'm going to downgrade to 10.10 again and I guess I'll stick with it.

The skin you are using is a pre-Opera 10.10 skin. You can fix it by editing the skin.ini file in the "skin".zip file.

find [Dialog Page Skin] in skin.ini and put the following as the next setting:

[Dialog Tab Page Skin]
Clone = Dialog Page Skin
Opera 12.16 - Windows 7 Ultimate 64- Custom I7 Quad Processor 8Gb RAM - 24" HDMI fp
Opera User since 3.0 - Operaa 12.16 & Cyberfox_64 -22 My Opera skins * Custom Color Schemes

There's plenty more skins you can choose. That or hope that the skin author updates the one you are using.

So you think this is ONLY a skin issue then that I cannot see things? If that's the case, I can try. I'm using Windows 7, by the way, and this is the only skin I really like.

Thank you Pizzapops!

Hi Brenda, try my (fixed) version of Shadowguard. It is also the only skin I like smile. Here's the link: http://my.opera.com/community/customize/skins/author/?id=coolTibi

@cooltibi - thank you. It's almost exactly the same. My only wish would be to have the tabs all in white writing rather than blue writing and somehow get rid of the shadow on the tab bar.

I'll upload two screenshots for you to see the difference, before and after.

Before:

After:

See the shadow at the bottom of the tab bar? Very annoying... it's light blue.. and the tab writing in blue is much harder to see than the writing in black.

If you can fix that for me, it'd be awesome! Otherwise, great job!!!!!

Well, the shadow should be fixed now smile. The writing on the tab buttons is blue, because you have chosen the "Blue" color scheme. I use one, that's called "Sea" and there it looks fine, so that's why I want to keep the color of the text like it is. But if you want to stick to the Blue, you can easily change the text color (to white, or whichever you want) by editing the "skin.ini" file in "shadowguard_2-4.zip". The entries you want to change are [Pagebar Button Skin.attention] and [Pagebar Button Skin.hover.attention]. If you want the text to be white, just change the
Text color = #ffdf53
to
Text color = #ffffff

You'll better close the Opera, while doing that.
