Opera "O" menu is missing (big red button)

I installed Opera 10.53 on my Intel Mac running OS 10.6.3 and was looking forward to experimenting with a "minimalist' look via the Opera "O" menu button. The button does not appear and I don't know how to make it appear. I did the "reset toolbar to its defaults" but it had no effect. I searched the forums and found many users reporting the same problem, but they were Windows users and I do not understand the solutions that were given (many of which did not work for them). I am not a sophisticated user, but would appreciated any help you can give me.

On the Mac, you always have the menu bar at the top of the screen. There is no option to turn off this system feature, nor is this something we would like to do. This is the Mac way of doing things.

Thanks you for the quick reply, and sorry I'm late getting back. I remain confused. Opera browser tips page says: "Find the Opera “O” menu on the left side of the TAB bar." I have no "O" button on the tab bar. This is not the same as the Mac menu bar, so I assume the button should appear. Are you saying that there will never be such a button for Mac users?

There will be no O menu for Mac users. It is the same menu options as the classic Windows menu. The O menu is just a rearrangement of the classic menu.

I have requested that we include a platform clarification on that page. smile

Thanks. That answers my question perfectly.
