INTERNET DOWNLOAD MANAGER (IDM)
Hiya, I have a 2 questions. I just recently installed IDM, and it seems to be working fine except for one thing, whenever I want to download YouTube videos it is supposed to show a button above the video for the download to start. This button seems to work fine on Firefox and IE, but it does not show under Opera browser, is this function not compatible with Opera? if it is, how can I fix it? Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide some info, it will greatly help me out!P.S. On a quick note, I did do a search for this problem, but they seem to all relate to either older versions of the IDM software, or older versions of Opera. None that I found made mention of the YouTube functionality.
IDM can download from Opera but not from youtube. Don't know even why. Tell you more, if I copy a youtube url into IDM, it just downloads an html file, if I copy the same url but from firefox or any other browser, it downloads the flv file.
I am using latest IDM version, 5.19. I wish someone from this forum had the knowledge to explain what to do, if there's anything to do.
It doesn't matter if you choose full integration with idm blabla...it wont work.
You only have two options to download all kind of files with Opera browser using IDM:
1. download oget, install it ,it lets you choose your download manager. After this you can download most of files. (when I install it, sometimes the browser becomes jerky)
2. Download and install Orbit downloader, this works 100 % integrated with Opera. I am using it and it goes perfect!
If you download Orbit downloader, once installed you have to go to Grab++ and check Opera integration under Preferences.
and about your question about IDM showing a "download with IDM" button, it does not show in Opera. It only shows up in IE, Firefox or any mozilla based browser.
Hope this helps you.

Hi guenthar
yes I have done it. No luck. It still shows htlm to download. I hate to switch from Opera to another browser just to download some videos or even sound files...but...no other way.
I wish this integration could be worked out in the future. IDM works really well, at least in my pc.

Hi guenthar
yes, I have done it. Same thing. I hate to switch from Opera to another browser just to download some videos, or even sound files. I wish I had a way to fully integrate IDM but as long as I can see and with my reduced knowledge about soft and blabla, I can't. There's no way. And for me IDM is the fastest to download, at least in my pc.
Hope this is worked out in the future.
