Why Doesn't Opera Work Anymore?
Almost every site I go to now.. I either cant login...or cant respond to anything (buttons dont work on webpages)All I did was reinstall windows and install opera nad copy over wand.dat and cookies.. Onl;y thing that does seem to work is viewing ads again.
Thought it was a Windows issue so I installed Mojave (7) 32 bit instead of V64.. still have the problem. Nearly half the internet functions incorrectly.
Buttons dont work, logins do not function (work but fail authentication).. cached items are refusing to show up... (this one is a like 6 months old)
Hard to tell everyone to use a browser that is broke...
Is it just a standards thing?
Need to know cuzz I might have to stop using Opera after years of love.
EDIT: Oh this is not a setup thing I think as two other PC'S in my house suffer same problems and they are complete default setups.
No, if it was a router problem then NO browser would work
I was very n00bish when I first posted and apologized.
It functions... just not properly. Gone are the days or broken CSS styles etc, now however, funtions just do not function.
For instance...
Go to ASUS's website and try and download drivers.
Product selection select motherboard. The page should reload with the next set of options (socket type)
It does nothing.
Other websites, that require clicking a button say entering data in a form and clicking submit (never login button though...it just tells me wrong user name/password when it decides not to work) clicking the button does nothing.
It could be a windows 7 issue (god knows I have had more than enough of them), I do not know, but it is only effecting Opera.
I love Opera been using it for years, and I should know better than to update, but just like windows 7 I want the latest and greatest stuff LOL (Should have stuck with Vista64... First OS I had that lasted over a year without formatting in a decade). Seems I have having all the problems with 7 that people said they had With Vista (that I never did).

Confirmed ASUS site error. Win 7 64bit opera 10.53... Maybe someone with javascript experience could check out the site:http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
I have a different error, attempting to download drivers from that site as posted by geometrikal, it does present the next page of options, gets as far as an OS selection screen...
...then it presents a captcha in order to download software, except the captcha never appears.

Don't have that problem, things download fine - using both the java engine or normal download links.I have a different error, attempting to download drivers from that site as posted by geometrikal, it does present the next page of options, gets as far as an OS selection screen...

Reporting as Fx is not the issue. I can report that for most sites and solve the problems as I have issues with.
The problem is why doesn't Opera let me function on those sites? I get it
Windows Updates wants an AX installed... no other site should be compromised like that.
Opera is the best browser in the world. I certainly don't want them to become the most popular and be targeted like Fx. Personally I never understood the infatuation with Fx... adding 3rd party tools to do what Opera does on its own? Javascript (I hate java) extensions to Opera so you can SEE everything that an addition is doing??
Not sure how Fx ever took off TBH....(oh yah the NYT article) Opera is the future. And I would rather deal with a couple trouble sites that I know are safe than have a whole plethora odf extensions made by who knows who leaking more security holes into my browser.
Been running AV free for almost a decade thanks to opera.
(MY home server has AV and NEVER EVER has it picked up something I did not purposely DL)
But that is largely do to intelligence behind the keyboard as well. Not going to download an EXE to fix opera LOL
Like the great unwashed will do for IE or Fx.
I am not asking for universal acceptance on Opera if it opens up holes. A reason why most sites do not work now would be nice though
(Most being... sites I had to use IE before just quintupled and no I don't have a list... I think the ASUS one is a good starting point).
