Unable To Send Email
I just upgraded Opera from 10.51 to 10.53, and find I am unable to send any email. I can receive email, but can't send.The settings for the Servers seem to be correct. They are the ones that I was using with the previous version, but Opera won't complete the connection when I try to send. I get a message saying that possibly my SMTP is set incorrectly.
I am able to send email if I use Firefox, and my gmail account; or if I use my ISP (BellSouth) and its mail client. So, apparently the problem lies within Opera. I have gone so far as to turn off my firewall, thinking that might be contributing to the problem, but that had no effect.
The computer is running WIN98SE, but I don't think that's pertinent.
Any recommendations?

This won't help at all, not really, but I've had no problem with the update on PC with Vista…
POP and IMAP accounts.
But there is no end of trouble sending from the Mac [iMac 2.1 GHz G5 (PPC) - OS 10.4.11 - 2.5 go RAM].
Not all round. POP3 appears to work now.
It's my Gmail IMAP accounts that will not send.
And it took some convincing for them to connect collect data… it's still on and off.
