Opera saturating nr of ip connections in router
Hi.I don't remember how long i have had this problem, but it seems that when i try to use the norwegian map service www.gulesider.no/kart , opera quickly slow's down to a halt. After investigating the matter, i have found out that in my Linksys router (54GL), the ip connections number goes trough the roof when browsing this site with opera. I have replicated the problem on two different opera installs on two different computers/os's. The problem dosn't seem to apply when i use Internet Explorer 8 in the same manner.
Might this be a Opera bug in how it manages its ip connections?
Anyone else experience the same thing?
My router doesn't provide that sort of reporting so I can't verify the issue. However, I have noticed similar symptoms - on certain sites, Opera will eventually stop loading, and other browsers or applications (e.g. Internet Explorer, MySQL Query Browser, Windows Live Mail) that are connected the same server lose their connection. About fifteen minutes later things are back to normal. I have found that capping Opera to use a single connection at a time resolves the issue.
The default for max connections to server has changed for Opera 10.5x — now 16 and 64 total connections. See preferences, network.

I had these values to default, then increased them to max before writing this thread. I reduced to 8/16 now, and it seems to better the situation somewhat. 8/8 is even better, but i still think this is a little bit strange.....
Current settings in FF are 30 max connections and 15 max connections per server. If i set opera to this, it saturates max ip connections fast. Browsing with FF, the ip connections number stays almost the same...
