right click menu select and search text no longer starts new page for google search results
up till yesterday, apropos of nothing, my right click menu google search for selected text always started a new tab for the search results, which is what I like. Then suddenly the search results are generated in the same tab so that I have to back arrow to get back to the original page.Please help me return to the previous method
There was a bug in 10.50 in that context-menu search always opened in a new page. That was fixed in 10.52 (IIRC), so now you are in control again. Hold Shift while clicking the search option in the menu if you want it to open in a new page (this goes for other operations as well). Or go into the Preferences and disable the 'reuse tabs' option (Prefs > Advanced > Tabs) - note that this will apply to about every action to loads a new page, for example opening bookmarks.
