More User Friendly Multi-search
Today I discovered yet another hidden function in Opera: Multi-search, which allow you to search the same content from search field with different search engine quickly. So, how it works? Just input the search terms in search field, then holding SHIFT+CTRL + ENTER/Left-click on a search engine in the dropdown list to open search result in background tab. That way Opera won't switch focus to the result page, allow you to repeat the search with another search engine immediately! This is a very useful function, but why not make it even more user-friendly? Here are my suggestions:
1. Why not allow Middle-click on search engine from the dropdown list to open the result in background? This will make it easier to perform Multi-Search function - especially for Mouse oriented user.
2. Why not add a Search in background button for each search engine entry in the dropdown list to open search result in background? Mac user doesn't have access to Middle-click, but they still have a mouse button to click on button. So, the logical solution would be add a Search in background button for 'em to performe Multi-search via mouse quickly.
3. Why not expand this function to "Search with" command in the Context menu also? It will save us a lot of time if we can search highlighted word(s) with different search engine one after another without losing focus from the search engine selection menu. This will greatly reduced the time & efforts required to perform multi-search, because we won't need to switch back & forth between the result & original page, or repeat Right-click > Search With routine after each search.
Thank you for reading, please consider these ideas if any Opera developers read this proposal.
