Where does a file downloaded via Opera Mini end up? (Samsung i8910, S60)
Hi, I've downloaded and installed Opera Mini on my Samsung i8910 phone (runs Symbian S60 - v3 or v5 not sure!). I've then used OM to navigate to the Google/Google Maps website and tried to download the Google Maps app. I'm given a choice of "picture", "video", "music" or "Phone memory" - folders/locations where the downloaded Googlemaps.sisx file will be stored, presumably. Choosing "Phone memory" leads to an error message, so I have downloaded to the first option, "picture". However, for the life of me, I can't find any "picture", "video" or "music" folders anywhere on the phone: does anyone known where I should be looking to find the Googlemaps.sisx app/file? Many thanks in advance!P.S. The single downloaded file appears in the Opera Mini download section but when I click on it I just get the option to delete, nothing else. I've tried several times and each time the Googlemaps file is re-numbered (Googlemaps-2.sisx, Googlemaps-3.sisx, etc.) indicating that, although I deleted the previous downloaded files from the OM download location, the original files remain, somewhere! Using the default browser gives no such problem...
There should be something like file manager in your phone..browse memory card and then select folder where you saved it..it should be there
Thanks Tommy, but that's what I mean: the choice I'm given by Opera/the phone, where to save the file, is limited to "picture", "video", "music" (I assume this means folders, with these names?), or "Phone memory".
If I try to save in "Phone memory" I get a message that download is cancelled. If I try the first option, save the file in "picture", then the file (Googlemaps.sisx) appears to download OK. If I then go to the Download section of Opera it appears there but when I click on it (hoping to install it), I just get the option to delete it, no other. If, before deleting it, I then use the file manager to explore the folders (for the phone memory and, separately, the mass memory), there are no picture/video/music folders to be found, anywhere that is accessible by file manager.
But the file is definitely there, somewhere, because as I say in my post, trying to download a second or third time leads to Googlemaps-2.sisx, then Googlemaps-3.sisx being saved. It's driving me nuts!
