Opera and Jolicloud

This weekend marks my first foray into anything Linux related, and I'm a happy camper. There's a new Linux distro that's calling itself the cloud-based OS for netbooks. Its name is Jolicloud, based on Ubuntu. This thing is incredible. It turns my Acer Aspire One 10 inch netbook into a brand new machine....fun and easy to use. It kind of looks like a giant iPhone when you look at the main screen. And my netbook running Jolicloud is now almost as fast as my regular laptop running Windows 7.

As for the Opera connection, I of course had to download the Linux version of Opera for the first time. And it was nice to see that, A) It was offered in JoliCloud's free app store, and B) that JoliCloud plays nice with Opera. In fact, after I installed Opera, I noticed that JoliCloud created a separate Opera Widgets Management space, that makes it simple to run, close, or delete widgets right from there, without even having Opera open.

I don't represent JoliCloud, just happy that it works so well with Opera. You can download it for free at www.jolicloud.com.
