Start Bar stays when disabled if Addressbar is also disabled.
(IBIS Inspire, that's why it's black, it's the same for any other skin though minus color, it's not blank when "enabled")1. Enable "Show hidden toolbars while customizing".
2. Disable Addressbar toolbar.
3. Disable Start Bar toolbar.
(it's the same in reverse too, Disable Startbar, then Addressbar)
This happens in: (Windows XP, SP3)
Opera 10.54, 3381
Opera 10.5, 3296
Opera 10.1, 1893
Opera 10.0, 1750
Opera 9.64, 10487
And also in Fedora 12, 10.53 6330
Does not happen in:
Opera 9.27, 8841
Opera 8.54, 7730
(7.54 doesn't have a start bar?)
So is this intentional? Some sort of "safety precaution" in case someone hides all toolbars? (but only when they have "Show hidden" enabled?)
I believe it has been posted about before, but couldn't find any when searching... posted it here since that's my main version (Beta/Snapshot), wasn't till after that I discovered it seems to be a browser-wide "issue" (if it is).

I have a somewhat similar problem.
since 10.60 (10.10 was ok), the 'start' toolbar is often completely empty:

I normaly have stuff in there like js bookmarks für url shortening or qr code generation.
the disappearance seems to be pretty random and is also present if I reset this toolbar to defaults.
the contents can be brought back by changing something else on the gui like showing/hiding the panels.
has this been reported so far?

Yeah, I as well as many others also have that same problem... it's a known issue.
Regarding the original issue, still does it in 10.6... not like it's really a problem, just "curious".
