Opera just crashed and lost me all my bookmarks - how can I get them back??!
First, Opera started behaving strangely: Entering a URL in the URL bar did not lead to attempts to load the page; the "Page down" arrow make the page move up; I could no longer close tabs, as well as a few other problems.I then closed Opera, and tried to restart it. However, even after waiting a long time, I could not restart, as I got an error message that another instance of Opera was still running.
Then I forced a closedown of Opera from the task manager, and successfully restarted.
However, now ALL MY BOOKMARKS ARE GONE! Presumably, the local copy of the bookmarks file was cleaned out for some reason during the crash/shutdown. Then when I restarted Opera, I reconnected with Opera Link, which then thought I had deleted my bookmarks, and then presumably cleaned out my bookmarks from the Opera Link server as well.
Stupidly, I trusted that Opera Link would be reliable, and so I stopped taking local backups of my bookmarks...
Does anyone know if there is a way to retrieve my bookmarks from a situation like this?

I think older versions of Opera used to keep a backup of the bookmarks file, but I can't see that 10.5x does.
I think your only hope is to use an undelete utility and scan your system for deleted copies of the bookmarks.adr file.
This is rewritten all the time, so there's a good chance that previous recoverable copies will still exist on your hard drive.
