Sony Ericsson Elm WiFi doesn't work for Opera
Hello,I've bought my new phone Sony Ericsson Elm (Sony Ericsson J10i2), when I enable Wifi connection, the default phone browser is able to connect to Internet through wifi, but when I want to use opera mini for wifi, it doesn't work - opera always connects by mobile network.
So I created new Data account in Internet settings, entering only account and APN name and enabling "Allow local connections". for Opera Mini application I set this profile to be used, but it doesn't work. I even disabled 3G network in my phone... I'm testing opera by connecting to http server on my LAN.
any help is appreciated
Got me an Elm, enabled WiFi, installed Opera Mini 5.1 and it refuses to work. Opera Mini 4.2 works flawlessly and 5.1 works just fine with WAP, but no luck with WiFi. Any suggestions?Hi ghbmmj, thanks for replying.
I forgot to mention that I've already tried that, but it didn't work. But eventually I found out that the problem has something to do with the fact that I currently reside in UAE. When ever I'm out of UAE, my Opera Mini works okay, it's just when I'm in Etisalat's network that I'm having problems. And since all the internet access here is highly controlled and censored, I presume that this country's government has also blocked access to Opera Mini's proxy servers. Such a shame.
