Using a Proxy with Opera Mini 5 ?

Hello,

I have been using Opera Mini 4 on my old Motorola V1050, there was settings for using a proxy with Java Applications.up Now I have a Nokia 2730 Classic which doesn't have this option at all... down

Opera Mini 5 works nicely but my provider's default proxy is quite innacurate and most of the connections breaks during data transfering while using my own proxy it worked great. yes

Is it possible to use a proxy with opera mini (or with my phone perhaps) ? Or is it possible to include that option in a further update ?

Thanks in advance wink

I suggest turning off your phone's proxy completely, if you can. Mini uses proxy servers anyway (it can't work without them) - all your own proxy would do would be to sit between your phone and Mini's proxies. More reliable, maybe, but it's an issue with your phone's data connection, not really Mini itself.

No you didn't got it.
I CANNOT set a proxy on my phone for java applications but I would need to set one. So I thought Opera Mini could include a "Proxy:port" option which would make Mini acts like that :
My Phone >> Internet APN >> My Proxy >> Opera Mini Servers

My current setup is
My Phone >> Internet APN >> Carrier Default Proxy >> Opera Mini Servers
But my carrier's proxy is really unaccurate.

This setup was working on my old Motoral Phone which has an option to use proxy with Java Applications.

I see what you mean but it's not currently an available option. I also don't see how it would work as your phone would still be using the main data connection which would go via the dodgy proxy regardless of Mini's own setting. I don't think this is something a Java app can do, although I could be wrong. Sorry.
