If that happens for all buttons, then it's an issue... to remove that (although you should already know how since you got it there in the first place) just edit your toolbar.ini file and remove the "MenuButton#" from "Document Toolbar.content".

Then, it's actually undesirable behavior if something that can be done cannot be undone. It is disabled purposely for Opera 'O' menu button.

I don't think it is easily possible to remove it accidentally. The "Remove From Toolbar" is further hidden in a Customize submenu. In prior Opera versions, there was no submenu so the "Remove From Toolbar" was only a click closer (so now, it's actually a little bit harder to accidentally remove a button). If someone does accidentally remove it, or any other button, it is possible to "Reset Toolbar to Its Defaults" or re-add it in the Appearance dialog.Only for "MenuButton", in it's original position, or if you put it anywhere else on the UI, it's intended that way so people don't accidentally remove it.
Why should the Opera button receive superior treatment than any other button? Yeah, the Opera button is important, but what about the back / forward button? That is important too, yet the "Remove From Toolbar" isn't disabled for it. Again, any button once removed can easily be added back via the Appearance dialog or its toolbar reset to defaults.
Or, instead of disabling the "Remove From Toolbar", wouldn't it be better to have a Yes/No confirmation dialog which will ask the user to remove the Opera button, if you still wanted to prevent removing things accidentally?

Yeah, but I see editing config files as a last resort:If that happens for all buttons, then it's an issue... to remove that (although you should already know how since you got it there in the first place) just edit your toolbar.ini file and remove the "MenuButton#" from "Document Toolbar.content".
Close Opera, Open editor, Navigate to location of file, CTRL + F to find text, Change text, CTRL + S, Open Opera...
IMO, that's really inconvenient.
in the screenshot just click "reset toolbar to its defaults"
but if you mean the "O" button in the titlebar do this
-SHIFT+F12(appearance dialog)
-Toolbars Tab
-Check "Show Hidden toolbars while customizing"
-CLick the "O" button in top
-In placement dropdown point to "OFF" and click Ok
then restart opera

Yeah, I had to do that after I finished the screenshot.in the screenshot just click "reset toolbar to its defaults"
The downside is that all customized buttons disappear. Then, all your buttons have to be manually re-added, a lot of work for something that should have been easy. Greatest solution would be to re-enable the "Remove From Toolbar".
Ha! I think I just changed this thread into a request thread. Move onwards to Desktop wish-list.
It should be removable from all toolbars except the Pagebar Head toolbar.
