Widgets should be able to run without task bar tab.
It should be possible to make widget that is not on task bar (like windows gadgets - windows 7) .It might be visible as icon in notification area.

That's contrary to the concept behind Opera's widgets. Opera widgets are supposed to be full applications, not just "widget widgets".
And that's why there should be possibility to turn off tab on task bar and turn on notification area icon.
Skype, antivirus software, Dropbox etc. are full applications and they have such functionality.
