I know what I will say: Uninteresting for me, I will be using XP(SP3) for a long time. smile

According to MS IE9 will not be for XP, only Vista and 7. sad

There was a lot of discussion on internet about that Microsoft "test". The big thing is that they do not even say which javascript tests they have used to get those results, so no competing browser can proof otherwise. (They only show a verbal description but no detail or specification for the test)

To get a more realistic comparison, look at these independent tests that covers a huge number of aspects

and

And not for Linux/Unix like platforms too. So why we must migrate from Opera to IE? I personally do not know any reasons, and you?

Feyfre;

I have absolutely no intention of migrating from Opera to IE 7,8,9...

I use IE7 for Windows Update only.

My intention was to point out that this is an oppurtinity for other browsers
than IE, since XP(SP3) is supported to mid 2014. smile

All those results tell us is that MS cannot build and release a browser today that can compete with the released versions of other browsers. By the time IE9 comes out, Opera will also have a browser out that is more compliant.

Pretty much every free Microsoft app. that's being released from this point on is requiring Vista and higher. However, applications such as Office 2010 and Visual Studio 2010 are XP SP3 or higher. No doubt they allow XP SP3 for the latter two because they earn big bucks from them. For the free apps. they judge it's not worth the hassle. But officially they'll tout "technical" reasons.

They didn't talk about version number, they just said it is Opera.
